Compare documents, not marketing claims
A useful comparison asks the same question of two sets of terms. It does not award points for bright interfaces, large potential returns or the number of markets available. This guide supplies a method for reading evidence, not recommendations about which business to use.
The consumer accountability checklist covers identity and Irish authorisation. Here the focus is narrower: how to record and compare specific conditions without turning uncertainty into an invented rating.
Use a dated evidence worksheet
| Topic | Record | Do not infer |
|---|---|---|
| Settlement | Period, exclusions and void rules | Same sport means same contract |
| Withdrawals | Conditions, charges and stated timings | An estimate is a guarantee |
| Limits | What is limited and over which period | Deposit limit equals loss limit |
| Complaints | Published route and evidence required | The regulator resolves every dispute |
For each entry, save the source URL, the date read and the exact scope. Mark information as stated, unclear or not found. Absence from a quick search does not establish that a term does not exist.
A hypothetical timing comparison
Document A says a request is reviewed within two working days after required checks. Document B says payment processing takes one working day but does not state when review finishes. It would be misleading to declare B faster from those sentences alone: they describe different parts of a process.
The same problem arises with normal-time result and “to qualify” markets. A different price may reflect a different settlement condition. Compare definitions before comparing numbers. Our market guide illustrates these distinctions.
Record gaps instead of inventing a winner
Do not average missing evidence into a numerical score. A neat total can hide a serious unresolved question, such as which legal entity holds the agreement or which exclusion applies. If a condition matters, an unanswered question remains unanswered.
A comparison also has a shelf life. Terms, ownership and available controls can change. Retain a dated note and revisit the relevant primary source rather than assuming a previous review is still current. There is no need to register or deposit money to complete this document-based exercise.
A better comparison can end with no selection
This portal does not rank operators, promote offers or provide affiliate links. Evidence about clarity cannot turn gambling into a reliable income or remove financial risk. Where gambling is already affecting everyday life, searching for a different provider is not a substitute for support.
Irish support services are available to people affected by their own or someone else’s gambling. You can also read how spending limits differ from staking systems.
Sources & methodology
Numerical examples are hypothetical and their assumptions are stated. They explain mechanisms, not recommendations for a real wager. Settlement illustrations do not replace the terms of a specific product.
